How to find RTA approved eye test centers in Dubai near you
Choose a branch by its exact address, then confirm the service before you travel. A search for an “RTA eye test center near me” can help you find nearby options, but a general optical shop listing does not establish that its branch offers RTA testing.
- Pick an area in this directory and check the branch address.
- Open its map link where provided and check the journey.
- Call to confirm RTA testing, the optometrist’s hours and the final fee.
- Ask whether you need an appointment and how the result will be submitted.
A mall’s opening hours may differ from the eye test appointment times. If you plan to go after work, ask specifically when the last RTA eye test is accepted.
RTA eye test fees in Dubai: free and lower-cost options
RTA lists the standard electronic eye test fee as AED 140 to 180. Check RTA’s official driving license renewal service for the licensing requirements, and ask your chosen branch what you will pay at the counter.
| Option | Price or condition |
| Standard electronic eye test | AED 140 to 180, as listed by RTA |
| Advertised discount or free test | Confirm current eligibility and any purchase or package requirement |
| Mobile eye test | AED 500, separate from the standard branch fee |
Where can you find the cheapest eye test in Dubai for a driving license?
Ask nearby branches for the total RTA test-only charge, then compare it with the cost of getting there. A cheap RTA eye test in Dubai is useful only if it covers the licensing service you need. We have not established a current cheapest branch across Dubai, so no provider is ranked by price here.
Can you get a free eye test for a driving license in Dubai?
A generally available free RTA eye test was not confirmed for this guide. Before accepting a free eye test for a driving license in Dubai, ask whether it includes electronic result submission and requires another purchase or a package. Confirm the offer’s expiry date. A free general vision check does not establish that the RTA service is included.
Can you take an eye test in Dubai for a license from another emirate?
Confirm acceptance with the authority that issued your license before booking a Dubai eye test. RTA approval for Dubai services does not, by itself, confirm that a branch can send results to another emirate’s system. RTA also says that a license issued in another emirate cannot be renewed in Dubai.
Abu Dhabi driving license eye tests in Dubai
For an Abu Dhabi license, confirm with the issuing authority that it accepts your proposed Dubai provider, then ask the branch about result submission.
Sharjah driving license eye tests in Dubai
For a Sharjah license, tell the Dubai branch which authority must receive the result and confirm acceptance before paying for the test.
Ajman driving license eye tests in Dubai
For an Ajman license, confirm the accepted provider and submission route before booking a test at one of the Dubai locations above.
Fujairah driving license renewal eye tests in Dubai
For a Fujairah renewal, ask the issuing authority and Dubai branch to confirm that the eye test result can be accepted and submitted for that renewal.
What to check before booking your RTA eye test
Standard RTA renewal requirements include a valid Emirates ID and an eye test. Ask your selected branch what it needs at the counter, and check whether you already have a valid result before arranging another test.
Professional drivers also need an approved hospital medical fitness test. An optical-center eye test does not replace that requirement. RTA retrieves renewal photos through the Emirates ID scanner, so do not assume you need two printed passport photos for a standard renewal.
Mobile RTA eye tests at home or work
RTA lists an Al Jaber Optical mobile eye test service that can be booked on 04 522 0000. The mobile eye test costs AED 500. A package covering the test, license renewal and delivery costs AED 1,000, so compare the service you need rather than treating both figures as eye test fees.
| Mobile service detail | RTA-listed information |
| Booking number | 04 522 0000 |
| Monday to Thursday | 10am to 5pm |
| Friday | 10am to noon and 2pm to 5pm |
Confirm availability and the booking arrangements when you call. These mobile prices are separate from the AED 140 to 180 standard electronic eye test fee.
Before you go: confirm the branch
Use this directory of RTA approved eye test centers in Dubai to shortlist a location, then confirm its service and test time. Use the exact branch name when you call so the booking matches the address you selected.
FAQ about RTA eye test centers in Dubai
RTA reports an average test time of five to ten minutes, with results submitted electronically. Allow extra time for a queue or further checks. This is the average test duration, not a promised total visit time.
RTA states that an eye test result is valid for three years. If you already have a result, check whether it is still valid and available for your application before arranging another visit.
Walk-in availability needs to be confirmed with the branch. Ask whether you can attend without an appointment and whether the optometrist will be available at your planned arrival time.
Confirm evening or Sunday testing directly with the branch. Store opening hours do not establish the optometrist’s duty hours or the last time an RTA eye test will be accepted.
RTA says eye testing and license renewal can be completed in one visit. Ask your chosen branch what renewal help it provides. This does not mean every branch prints a physical license or offers every renewal service.
Contact the branch that carried out the test and ask it to check the electronic submission. If the result remains unavailable, contact the authority handling your application before paying for another test.
RTA’s international driving permit requirements list a valid Dubai license and do not list a separate eye test. Our guide to an international driving permit in Dubai explains that application. Renewing or exchanging your driving license is a different process.
RTA says colour blindness does not automatically prevent an application for a learning permit if the applicant passes the eye test. This does not guarantee a pass or eligibility for every vehicle category.
